Health & Safety

'One size' doesn't fit all.

Instead of being a drain on resources, implementing compliance with Health & Safety regulations often involves inexpensive changes that can have a positive impact upon absenteeism and productivity, reduce insurance premiums and, of course, minimise the likelihood of accidents, injuries and claims.

Typically, the problem for most organisations lies as much in deciding how to prioritise and deal with risks, as in identifying those risks in the first place. Impractical solutions that ignore the circumstances are no solution. For example, measures such as signs that are expected to be disregarded and personal protective equipment which is provided but regularly not worn, are seen by the courts as no more than paying lip service to the law. Thus one size does not fit all: a customised approach, not a standard manual, is what is required.

Professional guidance on compliance and a better working environment

Our qualified Health & Safety specialists look at every procedural and physical aspect of your organisation to identify:

- clear failures to comply
- risks which, regardless of the regulations, should be reduced
- opportunities to adopt beneficial best practices.

The results of the assessment are provided both in a comprehensive report and via a meeting with you. Typically, the purpose of that meeting will be to present our findings, agree priorities for action and the implementation of which aspects, if any, you wish us to monitor.

Implementation

Having agreed a programme of action, we can assist in one of two ways, either directly monitoring your progress in meeting that programme, or as consultants to an in-house programme manager.

On-going support

Our specialists can offer advice whenever you need it, throughout the year. This includes:

- crisis management advice in the event of a serious incident
- incident investigation and formal reports
- legislation updates and their relevance to you
- procedural advice for all staff when they are in any doubt.
